Grandmas scarf, a different one...

Well, since the last skein of yarn got miserably tangled, I bout some Red Heart Soft Yarn in Seafoam and started over. But with a different pattern. Thought I'd be brave and try cables. Oh my! I am hooked. I have always loved the look of cables but they are always in knit. This pattern is awesome and I plan to try it in an off white or cream to be more true to it's Aran name! Very easy, finished in one day. I did mess up and do double crochet instead of treble crochet but I think it worked out fine and I kinda like it better. It's tighter. Also used an I hook because I don't have an H. Ah, reason to go to the store! Pattern on Ravelry....ugh! why can't i link to it!

WHY? Why does all yarn DO THIS?!?!?!

I am so SICK and TIRED of buying yarn that does this halfway through the skein. I have wasted so much because I cannot get the knots out. UGH!

I am going to start this scarf again. Make it less wide, probably about half of what it is now.

Athenian Scarf from Ravelry

Loving this! It is working up easily and it is gorgeous! I can't find (or afford) the yarn the pattern calls for so I am using Caron Simply Soft. Making it for Fred's mom, the blue is almost the same color as her eyes.

Using F hook. Caron Simply Soft in LT Country Blue.

CURRENT PROJECT

Current project: The never-ending basket weave afghan for my DH who is deployed. It is navy blue (Caron Cape Cod blue to be exact) and sunflower, although I won't mention the color name to him. HAHA! I swear I will never finish it. But it is snowing today, good day to sit down with some hot chocolate and crochet under a warm blanket.
